I was born in Barcelona in 1977. Between 1999 and 2001 I served as a professional soldier in the Brigada de Cazadores de Montaña Aragón I, on exercises in several NATO countries. From September 2000 to March 2001 I was deployed in Kosovo with KFOR, the NATO peacekeeping operation under a UN Security Council mandate. Wargames had interested me since before I enlisted, and during those years I went as far as modelling real manoeuvres with wargame rules. I did not know then that the impulse — giving formal structure to a situation so that it can be examined — was the same one that orders everything I do now.

Afterwards I studied programming and 3D design, and worked for several years as a freelance specialising in fluid mechanics and particle systems. That was the first place where mathematics stopped being a subject of study and became a tool that solves something concrete. That is where the interest in applied mathematics comes from, and it has not left me since.

I led research projects at Havas Media within CDTI programmes, and took a master's in CAD/CAE/CAM at the UPC. I moved to Germany to work in online marketing data analysis, and for some years now I have worked at Deutsche Bahn, in Analyse and BZ-Systeme. Without hurry, and without ever having stopped, I continue the Mathematics degree at the UNED.

What I do now brings together everything before it: mathematical modelling applied to concrete problems of decision under uncertainty, particularly in contested environments.
